Carlo A. Balistrieri is a seasoned botanical garden professional with significant leadership experience honed as a curator, head of horticulture, vice president and executive director at some of the top gardens in North America. His years as an attorney have informed his interactions with boards, donors, communities, staff, volunteers, visitors–all the stakeholders of a public garden. He is a champion of the relevance and importance of public gardens in today’s world and works to keep them strong and vibrant. He is passionate about the plants, people and product that make up public gardens. Through his leadership and management as well as his photography, writing, speaking, teaching, and mentoring, he hopes to inspire in others an interest in and awareness of the importance of gardens to their health and overall well-being.
