Art Exhibitions on the Riverwalk
Waterford Township, Michigan created outdoor art exhibitions on its riverwalk beginning in 2017. Held every other year, the exhibition brings awareness to the Riverwalk and raises money for maintenance of the Riverwalk.
- 2017: Post Impressions: 4 x 4 posts decorated and installed along the Riverwalk
- 2019: Walking Shoes: wooden shoes decorated and zip tied to tree trunks
- 2021: Flying Fish: fish shaped cutouts decorated and hanging in the trees on our Riverwalk
- 2023: Just Ducky: duck shaped cutouts decorated and hanging in the trees on our Riverwalk
- 2025: Blowin’ in the Wind: wind chimes will be decorated and hung along the Riverwalk
The items are inexpensive, ranging from $25-$40. The exhibition is open from June through October. A bin at the library serves as the drop-off point for art items. The DPW helps install the items and takes them down using their lift. Read an article about one of the exhibitions.
